Losing gift to smoking diesel marijuana

Before anything I want to leave things clear, I do not encourage any will to try drugs. I just want general opinion and by any means a heaten up discussion. Of course the word "gift" may be misleading, by any means I consider myself gifted but because I have read so many stuff about geniuses who where gifted at many things such as science (not necessarily to Einstein level, just understanding complex science and math easily) and suddenly after taking a joint they literally lost their gift. I do not know at what extent this is actually true but it brings something to think about. If you could leave any evidence apart from short term memory and other obvious studies it would be great.
