Losing on time - good for the resumé?

Sometimes I see people despondent because they've lost a game of speed chess on time.  And I tell them to cheer up, because many in the business world respect punctuality, and you sure don't want to tell them that you lost 5 minutes late.

To be able to do that, you have to be familiar with many different mating positions. And a bit of practice certainly doesn't hurt.
