Losing rating because of Chess.com crushes

We are losing ratings when site crushes while playing, and there is no refund of those ratings

This just happened to me as well.  I had mate in 5 and get disconnected and then get the database overloaded error.  As a paying diamond member, this is unacceptable to lose rating points when clearly winning due to a server crash.

If you lose game due to database overloads, contact support with links to the game(s) and they should be able to refund rating.

Between the constant crashes and all of the dirty play that's going on now, I seldom ever play another person these days, just the computer.  Things have really gone downhill very quickly. 🙁

I did file the ticket.  I received a generic response that they are attempting to fix the servers and higher more support staff.  The email did not address any rating refunds...  I'll post a follow-up if anything develops.

The site always sends out an automatic reply letting the member know the ticket was received. When they have high ticket loads and or other major issue, they will include some information on that to let the member know what is going on, in general, which they may not have been aware of, and that it may take longer to get to the ticket.

Rating points come and go.  Really a hand full of games has no net effect on your rating over time.

The only way to win on line is to lose.  Think about it the next time your rating gets to a new high then you starting losing constantly.  Then again with a low rating you start on an amazing win streak.

I completely understand your point, and obviously rating ebbs and flows.  What frustrates me is when I spend about 35 minutes of my time playing one game and getting a mate in 5 position only to have the site crash and I get the loss and my opponent gets the win.   Then add in the fact that I'm actually paying their highest membership tier to use this site...  I guess its more the principal of the issue than the 16 point rating swing...
