Lost points on win.

I usually pay no attention to the forum, let alone post anything. Life long chess player, new to chess. com.
I'm curious if someone could enlighten me on a situation I recently ran into. Won the game by checkmate but lost 4 points. My opponent was 100 points below my own. I've played quite a few games here so far and never ran into that issue.
Is there some reason why I lost points on that win? I have friends who I introduced to chess. com and they are still ranked far below me. When I win against them I gain nothing, which is quite understandable but what is it that causes the loss of points on a win?
Anyone?

If you are on the app it is very possible the display of lost points was from a cached entry on a previous game.
