To my most distinguished colleague Thunder 5000, I respectfuuly understand your plight in this world. It

sometimes is a formidable task to right the vagaries and vicissitudes of our vacillating world! So many hardships and dilemmas to solve in our world! It would appear that our world is going to hell! Try to put your little problem here into the larger context of the much more important problems in this universe. It will alleviate some of your anger over this trifling affair! Btw, think of changing your user name to thunder 0000.

Cool...this is the second time I got accused of being a "shill"

The first time was the guy with the crazy story about a year ago, something about someone pretending to be a lawyer in Florida and conning him, somehow this was chess.com's fault, then somehow I was to blame because I was "shilling", then he challenged me to a game and lost on time. Then he got banned. It was all very cool. I got free rating points. I still have them.

and I would suggest that you change your username to frankenstein.

then whose fault is it?

There must be dozens of network switches between you and chess.com. It could be any one of them or any of the companies that own them. It could also be any large amount of network traffic anywhere in between.
The bottom line is that the problem could be anywhere between the USA and India.

so, google is located in the US too. and so are dozens of other sites. I have no problems accessing google or other sites. it is obvious that you don't understand how the internet works.

Get a traceroute tool, check the routes to google.com and chess.com, see how they differ, be totally flabbergasted, stop pretending to know how packet routing works.

okay so you got free rating points for being a stooge.

Gyryth

I get plenty of disconnects too. Fact of life. Roll with it. It's a free service and you don't have to use it if it gives you conniptions. I just changed my game preferences to play stronger players so I didn't lose too much rating when I disconnected and made it up when I didn't.  I'm interested where you get your sense of entitlement from though - the last time I was in India there were people living on the streets, begging, limbless, leprous or blind, or else working for a few rupees a day picking through garbage. Get a sense of proportion.

okay let me know the next time you are in India. i'm going to make you live on the streets thru begging. and i've been to london and there were homeless people living on the streets there. are you one of them? and i find it strange that you are talking about people on the streets in India when  it is your country - britain which is responsible for putting them there. free service doesn't mean it should be bad. and they do post their ads there.

I haven't lost a game on playchess or FICS because of lag in years and years. Chess.com has simply become impossible to use for playing.

And conversely, I have never experienced lag here at all, which means that it is probably an issue of your browser performance.

RonaldJosephCote

Your flying a flag from India, and you've been to Britain. You've only been here for 1 day.  And don't call einstein frankenstein. The're 2 different monsters.

waldojones

England is responsible for putting people on the streets in India. ???  What a bunch of bull crap. India has  not had English rule for over 50 years. Stop blaming others for your problems. People staving , homeless, and you are going to sue chess.com because your crappy internet lost you a game. UNFUKKING BELIEVABLE.

RonaldJosephCote

It takes a village to raise a chess site!

Bardu

I'm gonna agree with orangeish blue, I've never experienced this problem on ICC, FICS, etc. Only on Chess.com with the browser based interface.

einstein99

Waaahhh, Lost my leg in Vietnam and I dont cry about it,

Get over it you big crybaby! Furthermore India was a lot more civilized under Btitish rule.Today you rape yourwomen and even the government turns their back! Amecicans have to come over to help your uunderprivileged such as prostitutes, poor children who need an education, and others. Your starting to sound more like some bratty, spoiled, american rather than the

Indian beggar that you are!

No I got free rating points from the guy that challenged me and then lost on time about 3 moves into the game.

yeah, I know nothing about the several locations I support in the US and Europe, the several networks I manage that connect them, nor the 15+ servers I maintain that keep it all running.

This all seems to have got out of hand!

Like Thunder I too was pissed off to be downgraded by a glitch (not emantaing from my kit or browser by the way) that wasted a lot of my valuable time (I should have been working not playing chess!), however escalating this to an international incident and blaming it on the British Empire is..... how shall I put this?.... paranoid.

This gives me yet futher pause for thought as to why I am wasting my time playing loonies who think qwe are "stooges" on a site that has problems.

Bardu.... do you recommend ICC or FICS?

well said.  and, Einstein99 is one of those paying members who RonaldJosephCote values as desirable on chess.com, since they pay!

HarKing12

Remember 1 thing Chess.com is the #1 site in the world.

Gyryth

Well, if I needed any more support for my contention that the OP is overreacting, then he certainly provided it.
