The first time was the guy with the crazy story about a year ago, something about someone pretending to be a lawyer in Florida and conning him, somehow this was chess.com's fault, then somehow I was to blame because I was "shilling", then he challenged me to a game and lost on time. Then he got banned. It was all very cool. I got free rating points. I still have them.

Get a traceroute tool, check the routes to google.com and chess.com, see how they differ, be totally flabbergasted, stop pretending to know how packet routing works.

I get plenty of disconnects too. Fact of life. Roll with it. It's a free service and you don't have to use it if it gives you conniptions. I just changed my game preferences to play stronger players so I didn't lose too much rating when I disconnected and made it up when I didn't.  I'm interested where you get your sense of entitlement from though - the last time I was in India there were people living on the streets, begging, limbless, leprous or blind, or else working for a few rupees a day picking through garbage. Get a sense of proportion.

I'm gonna agree with orangeish blue, I've never experienced this problem on ICC, FICS, etc. Only on Chess.com with the browser based interface.

yeah, I know nothing about the several locations I support in the US and Europe, the several networks I manage that connect them, nor the 15+ servers I maintain that keep it all running.

Like Thunder I too was pissed off to be downgraded by a glitch (not emantaing from my kit or browser by the way) that wasted a lot of my valuable time (I should have been working not playing chess!), however escalating this to an international incident and blaming it on the British Empire is..... how shall I put this?.... paranoid.
