Magnus Carlsen gives away the title, what does this all mean?

It means magnus carlsen is not going to be officially "world champion" for much longer.

The title is a reference with a big meaning to the future of chess, like how will things be? Will magnus just be regarded #1 despite not being wcc? Will he play at candidates, become world champion and give it again like what does this mean for the chess world as a whole

Well, #1 is #1. He was #1 also before winning the title.

With the wave of 10 year old masters and 12 year old grandmasters coming up the ranks in 5 years, he got out while the getting out is good.

Chess computers and tutorials are nothing like they were when I was a kid.

Though if I was an alien, this might be exactly what I'd be doing.

No man, the world's gone to the dogs. Why in my days there was no rain until the big flood and then we had that rainbow you know. Kids these days man. They don't know what real life's like.  Ooh I broke my arm, I need to be hospitalized.  No doctors on the ark man. Tough times ...

Back in my day the rainbow stood for God's wanton genocide, now these snowflakes want it to use it in their sissy parades!

No man. Back in my days they pulled out my rib to make a woman. I didn't complain. Well she did the complaining for both of us. Tough times man

Yep, that was my point.

And his contemporary, Karjakin, was a GM at 12. The same Karjakin Carlsen outclassed in their WCC match in spite of being in a slump.

Sometimes I wonder whether people are purposefully saying... well... dumb things.

He'll play a wc match again if there's a lot more money.

Yeah man, that's what it's always been about. Carlsen never shuts up about how much he wishes there were larger prize funds. Even back in 2010 when he was talking about his issues with the WC cycle, it was always about money.

And so, once again, like I just said...

Sometimes I wonder whether people are purposefully saying dumb things.

In the end, it's better to not give a sh*t and just post fun videos and jokes like bunny.

Probably said in jest, but honestly... not sure how much discussion humanity needs these days. I suppose there are still fundamentally broken institutions... like government. My dream is one day AI will take over so we'll actually have some intelligence behind decision making instead of rich photogenic a**holes running everything... too bad it will be long after I'm gone.
