He really represents the new school of chess where you are an all around player that can handle virtually any position. The only difference between him and other top players is the fact that he is intuitive on openings while others are heavy with the use of computers in opening prep. But he uses computers too though.Â

people love to live vicariously through other people. If i could play even half as good as carlson id be happy but to say hes the best ever cant be proven. there will always be people who say. yeah but he never played fischer. fischer to me is still the best.  until someone breaks all his records then ill change my mind.
