An intriguing thing about rare genius is no one knows how or why it works.  Among all of today's great talents who work so hard, why is Carlsen better?  No one knows, not even Carlsen.

I think this is a candidate for "most special thing" about Carlsen.

It's quite premature to call Carlsen a "historical legend". Realistically, he is the first of the computer generation to win the title. Will he be able to defend it against players who are not 20+ years older than him? If so, then we can start comparing him to actual historical legends like Kasparov, Fischer, Lasker, Morphy, et al.

Something to be mentioned that Kasparov himself called Magnus a legend , and i added historical as no one currently seems to beat him soon !

He does have a gift of near photographic memory...which is a great advantage in chess. Plus, I think he wants to be the best ever...the drive is real. Note- He tweeted after beating Anand "2 down, 5 to go"...this of course refers to Kasparov's 7 WCC Defence...so you see, he has a goal which he is striving for.

I sincerely wish he stays committed to Chess and become a legend! Also I wish him to become a brand ambassador for the game of Chess!
