In all honesty: At the super gm levels with large amounts of money at play, I understand the Magnus approach. Of course. But seeing guys rated 1200 here on CC play like they think it's Fischer v Spassky every game is just pathetic. What a bunch of tryhards.

It's been nice chatting. I might go play a 15+10, full well knowing that my opponent is a 12 year old Asian whose father is standing behind him with a big piece of bamboo, threatening to beat him to death with it if he doesn't win the game.

They are good, but not as good as your blogs, even your nonexistent ones.
it has impacted many players in a mental and scarring way, you cant just say that something is simply a board game when it means more than that. for some people this is their job and for others they are riding on this game as thats what gave them passion. there is no difference wether if its chess or not i wouldnt laugh at anyone who likes their passion and wants to prove that he can win regardless if its simply whatever as i am fine with seeing a game where they are willing to go all out and nothing less, thats magnus carlsen
