Make shorter time controls

It is in my personal opinion that Chess.com should allow us to make 1 second Chess games. What do you think?

No, the minimum should be 30 secs probably.

If they went much shorter than 10 seconds, the lag time of the internet becomes a problem. Even at 30 seconds is there a noticeable delay between one player making a move and another seeing it, espically if one player doesn’t have good conection, is using cellular on a phone, or just has a slow internet connection. Another reason is chess.com would have to change their rating system, because I think that currently the time controls are not considered when judging the change in rating for each player. 1 one second, the game means pretty much nothing, no one could ever checkmate, it would just be whoever runs out of time. So I think adding 1 second chess would be kind of silly.

Well then maybe at least 5 seconds.

How much rating would you even get from a 1 second game? 0.025?

And anything lower than 10 seconds is just unplayable, but it would be fun to see a 5 second game.

I think 10 seconds is the bare minimum, anything below that is just chaos

That's the best case scenario. Most games would be over much more quickly and it would be a premove fest.

Pls, don't boast your superior premove speed in front of everybody, just because u r an American and have the best possible computer.

#1 Premoves take 0.5 seconds and even if you're the GOAT of chess, there's no way to win the game in 2 moves (except fool's mate ofc), it will just be a game of "I have a faster internet speed".

They take .1 seconds

A minimum of 0.1 second. They can take longer if someone is experiencing high lag or disconnects

I think that if you want smaller time controls, you should get them. But if you don’t want them, just don’t play them.
