I like how he said that they're better just standing there. Maybe he means european mannequins are better than american mannequins?

I don't know about this. I've seen some pretty sexy mannequins here in the US. I think it's that whole "hard to get" aura it had from the "for display only" sign at its feet.

He was talking about New York mannequins from Europe too. The sign was probably in French or something.

Ouais? Les mannequins françaises m'intéressent!

(it has been a long time since French classes)

This topic has everything. American bashing, American women bashing, football, snow white and even a freaking Dragon discussing weather patterns and an attraction to plastic women..... carry on.

Yes, it was obvious the mannequins were French when the French mannequins pushed the American mannequins out of the way to get into the display case first.

They're not plastic! They're... just organically-challenged!

I'm starting to relearn what I can to prepare for a placement test when I go back to school in the fall. BAck in High School I took three years, but now... I guess the best metaphor is to imagine a building whose steel frame is fine, but was otherwise gutted by fire/a storm/angry black Friday shoppers.

It's not even worth a try. Americans today would rather watch Lebronz bounce a ball for 2.5 hours than take the time and mental energy to even bother learning how the pieces move. Most of us are just totally horrible at Chess.

I play daily at this point and am starting competitive play. Offline, I never, ever, ever meet anyone in the States here who plays like that outside of the local chess club. Ever. People look at me either like I have three heads or like I'm Jesus when I start talking about the game and describing different openings to them. It's just way over their head.

I've considered moving to Europe down the line. Better chess, better women, better weather, and a more productive environment for writing.

don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

enjoy the clouds and rain. oh, yeah, the mannequins, too.

Laughing When I took French, for a few months I was thinking in French. But then it disappeared after I stopped.

They're better wherever they're physically standing, whether that be in Europe or the States. And seriously man, this really isn't the time or place for this discussion. I've dropped my 2 pennies.

you've dropped more than that.

I'm jealous! I never quite reached that point. I dreamed in French, though. Once.

Oh, I don't mind, man. We can talk here. Tell me what makes the european women so chess-player crazy?

Really - Grow up.

I'm 39 years old! I just would like to know a real man's point of view, man. What is it about european women that made them evolve into such chess-player lovers?

if you want a real man's pov, you may be searching for a loooong time.
