I hear alot of talk about Mangus losing is mojo, and his abilities. Mangus lost in Norway? Big deal. It is only blitz.

The main tourney was not blitz. It was 40 moves in 2 hours with and additional hour to finish the game, 30 second increment starting at move 41.

The blitz part of the event was just for pairing puproses:

Kind of odd coming one day after you made a thread asking if he was still worthy of being World Champion.

Why would they have blitz for pairing purposes? Isn't it counter intuitive?

Blitz for pairing purposes? Why not toss a coin?

It has become popular to have a blitz tourney to determine the players " pairing #  "  these days .  They used to just have a drawing of the pairing #s during the opening ceremony , in the past .

Why go through the trouble with blitz? Just play rock, paper, or scissors, or toss a coin.

Maybe because its not a rock , paper , scissors tourney ?  I like it myself ... a chance to see the top players play some blitz as a warm up to the main event ...

No but it is for pairing purposes. Again, why go through the trouble to play blitz for pairing purposes. I don't see any sense in it.

It must be good for the organizers or they wouldnt do it . The players are probably paid extra for the blitz games and the majority of fans feel as I do and like seeing the top players playing some blitz against one another ... whats the problem ?

Because it is not a blitz tournament

It's was a round robin anyway; the purpose was just to get the paring numbers. More games is better for the fans and better than watching them pull numbers randomly.
