Pretty sure Chess.com's matchmaking is rigged. Whenever I make an account with 60% wr or close to it, most of my opponents-- I've checked-- are either 50-100+ points higher than me, or have high winrates, meaning they should be ranked higher.

There is a definite pattern here. If matchmaking didn't take into account winrate in pairing two players, then I'd be getting a lot more 50% or sub 50% wr players in the same elo range, but it's mostly 50%+ wr players, which leads to this suspicion.

I suspect this form of manipulated matchmaking is an attempt to lengthen the time spent playing here in order to rank up-- this is completely different to Lichess where the matchmaking seems fair and randomly selected based on just rating, no hidden mmr values like your winrate, etc.

In Lichess, I've gotten to 2k+ in Bullet, which is not even close to 98% of chess players on Lichess, but on here, 1600-1700 bullet is better than 98% of all players! Why is such a low elo rating, which should be close to the average elo/skill skill, comprised of such a small percentage of the chess playing community here?

It's because they want to make the grind for the average chess.com player take much longer in pursuit of breaching into your dream elo.

Why is that so? It's because the matchmaking system here is more rigged to force you to play longer and perhaps be more incentivized to buy a membership to improve and "climb".

I'm pretty sure win ratios don't play into the pairing system.
