I'm in; 1316 at the time.
I'd like to have a round robin tournament sometime, because it seems to me that such a tournament would be the most fair when it comes to the rankings of the players (especially those who don't win). Also, if you have a multi-round tournament (in which each player plays each other player a specific number of times) in which the number of rounds is even, then each player could play each other player as white and as black. Of course, this would probably be the longest type of tournament, except that any one player could play several simultaneous rounds.
Just an idea I had.
id think round robin groups of four would be best... ties broken by moves made in wins (less the better obviously) ... top two advance per group then 16 player tree tournament.... 1 vs 16...2 vs 15 etc....that way everybody gets at least three games

I got a lot of response from my first tournament which is being played right now! So I thought I would start another tournament.
if there are any rules you think I should add/remove please tell me.
The rules of the tournament:
1. Knockout tournament, if you lose then you're out!
2. To join the tournament post in this topic saying you want to play but please include your rating.
3. 32 players, 5 rounds.
4. 1 days time control but each game must be finished within two weeks! If a game last longer then 2 weeks I will decided if the time should be extended, if I should declare a winner, count it as a draw Etc.
5. If there is a draw, there will be a rematch. If the game is draw again, then the player with the lower rating will be the winner of the game.
6. All game will be rated games.
7. All player must have a rating between 1200 & 1600 (this is your rating you have right now)
8. For every round I will post in this topic telling you who you play against so keep track of this topic because you will not get a message! After I do this all games in that round should start with in three days! I will keep track of all games played and the order in which they are played.
9. When a game is over post in this topic telling me who won.
10. All games must be named matthewthegreat’s 2nd tournament
11.If you lose a game give the winner a trophy! Also give trophies to the winner of the tournament!
