I made it to about 800 so far... then I fell immediately to the upper 500's. Has this ever happened to you? And why do you think it happened? I started watching tutorials and somehow I got worse. I was focused on using the new strategy I learned rather than focusing on the fundamentals. I believe this to be the reason.
Median statistics would be interesting for the games.
@ChessPlayer013
Currently I am mainly playing Rapid with longer time controls 15 minutes + 10 seconds.
As I play I talk my strategy out loud and draw lines on the board by right clicking. Its a thing I picked up off YouTubers and Twitch. It helps me focus and I am avoiding the Blitz and Bullet matches until I get a higher rating at Rapid.
Good luck.
Currently, the 50th percentile (effectively the same thing as the median) for rapid is 837, which is very similar to the current average rapid rating of 839.54. See this profile for an example.
The 50th percentile for blitz is 829, which is also fairly similar to the current average blitz rating of 846.53. See this profile for an example.
See my post in this thread for an explanation of how to find this info.
I see for example that the global Blitz average rating is about 849.
I would be interested in seeing the median rating since the top players are skewing the average rating value. Is this number anywhere for the games?
