Member Analysis with GM Jesse Kraai

Hi Jesse, here is another game from online chess ligue, time control was 45+45. The game quite suddenly went into B vs N endgame and I would be really interested to hear some of your comments. I also made some annotations of my thoughts during the game and postmortem analysis.

Time control was 45min, 5 second delay OTB. I was playing white. At the time of playing, I was rated ~1373, but the scoresheet said I was 1273. I bet my opponent was thinking she would get a free win, but I tried not to let her win that easily.
After the game, she left quickly after writing the score on the scoresheet.

I felt like I was doing pretty well. I don't think it was a mistake for me to trade queens with this player, because of how much they outrank me! I did it without hesitation following my instinct that the game would be easier for me without the queens. I feel like I really had this game going my way and that it slowly slipped away. I think that my game would be a very interesting game to analyze. It could also be helpful to myself and others who get to see it. This is my first time posting a game. It's very interesting to me how other players have chosen to write out explanations beside each move in the PGN area. Learning the capabilities of this site and how to use them most efficiently is a huge challenge in itself. I really am suffering from schizophrenia. Sometimes it is very difficult for me to concentrate. The good news is that I am getting better at blocking out the voices. I had almost total silence during this game!! God Bless, and may I continue to enjoy playing chess! In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Add me so we can play sometime!!

Black achieves the dream position in the Portuguese variation of the Scandinavian defense against an opponent rated 100 points higher. White accepts the bishop sacrifice on g4 and gets into deep trouble. On the edge of loosing, White finds a few good knight moves, harassing Black's queen, but Black helps White a lot to escape by not finding a simple developing move with tempo. Pieces are exchanged and in the queen and rook endgame Black spoils another winning position. White saves itself with a nice tactic and goes for a perpetual check.

I think it is possible to stop the pawn by checking the king.
Openings are important! GM Kraai wants us to analyze our games, and my analysis has shown that I lose far more games because of poor play in the opening than I do because of poor play in the endgame. One of my biggest problems is that I make mistakes when confronted with an opening or variation that is unfamiliar to me. This is what happened in this game. I didn't play the middlegame well, either. It was a Daily Chess game, with 3 days to make a move, played in March.
I wish I knew how to post the game so that the viewer is looking at it from the Black perspective. I suppose GM Kraai can flip the board himself when he looks at it.
