Member Analysis with GM Jesse Kraai

Good afternoon! This is a 15|10 Rapid game here in Chess.com. It is my first victory against a 1400+ Rapid-rated opponent. I started off well, then gave my opponent the chance to strike back, managing to regain the initiative and finally I succeeded in forcing my opponent to make a crucial mistake and proceed to win the game.
PS: forgot to mention, my rating after the game was 1427, my opponent's rating 1459.

Hello Jessi,
I admire your chess work. Keep driving those pieces hard!
I was very lucky to draw this game. It was a Club tournament, Daily Chess 3 days/move here at Chess.com. I played the Black side of a 2...Nf6 Scandinavian Defence.
I failed to follow a good book line even though the theoretical move suggested came with an exclamation point! This is absolutely careless.
The inferior move that I played gave White a powerful center which I was fortunate enough to warp a bit with a tactical blow.
There was a point in the middle game when I could have forsaken material for piece activity. I failed to do that and fell deeper into trouble. The alternatives that I missed appear to be instructive but I'm not at that level of chess -- yet.
Late in the middle game, faced with several losing variations, I went into a King and Pawn ending that loses easily. I didn't know how bad it was for me at the time. It looked as good as what I could see as alternatives. My opponent let me off the hook a second time finding the only move that allowed me to draw the ending. The ending seems instructive.
Overall, I played hazzardous chess.

I have gone up 50 points in my rating since studying my games as Jesse recommends. And, I am playing beyond that, but still blundering which is keeping me humble. I expect to get past most of that with more patience during the games, studying what the opponent has in mind more thoroughly. Ricker
