The only thing I've found more boring is when I ran into a man at a meet and greet who introduced himself to people by telling us his IQ score. His social IQ was two standard deviations below the mean.

look I could probably train a bit (or not) and beat a woman's wrestling champ. And I can point to the lines of geniuses like newton, einstein, heisenberg, da vinci, et al. And the women can point to madam curie, who boiled dirt IN THE KITCHEN (as was proper) and DIED of RADIATION POISONING!
As much as I think genders are equal, the OP has a point- as more men play chess, it is true that the top tear of women have never, unfortunately reached the same levels as the top tear of men in their time period- but the Polgars came close, perhaps even did do so.

if the men didn't fight and die in wars, guess who's next in line to be raped and killed? yeah that'd be women, often throughout history it's been done to protect as well as to conquer. They die rather than the women, as the women represent a potential future generation (as in the cattle industry, you don't need a 1 to 1 sex ratio to knock up all the females of the breed). Soldiers in and of themselves are not bad, or criminals.

It is sad to see the xenophobia as well as the sexism in these posts.
Criminals aren't bad- but crime is.
And forget the point about wars- that was not a good point by myself. But in the UK women have been (I think) allowed to serve under any capacity in the armed forces

I would not be. It is incumbent on immigrants and vacation goers to learn to communicate using the host country's language, anything else is rude.

I personally think that if there were the same proportion of women playing chess as men on an amateur and professional level, it would be a fairly or completely (well fairly, as nothing is ever complete despite your best judgements, a maths estimation is never likely to be completely correct) equal playing field as who would be the world No.1-10

math is math, science is science, and as has been said, most of the greatest achievements are by individuals or small groups working in relative isolation (meaning whether THE MAN is trying to hold women down has no bearing on what talented individuals can achieve). By and large, women don't go into those fields, or chess, by choice. Because they don't achieve much in those fields, or really enjoy the subject matter.
