8-2? The top rated woman (Judit Polgar) is something like 50th in the world. That means the top 49 are men. I don't even think Hou Yifan (the next highest woman) is in the top 100. Those 2 might be able to pull a draw against some of the top 10, but how do you really think Carlsen vs Polgar and Aronian vs Yifan would go? That a rating of 2868 to 2669, and 2813 to 2617. You really think the odds of beating an opponent 200 points above you would be 1 out of 5?

The men would win, but then the women would say something snarky and claim a moral victory.  It wouldn't be the women playing.  Just some other women.

I guess when a woman becomes the World Chess Champ at some point, it's going to be a real big deal. Hopefully it will be like the Fischer craze and get a lot more people interested in chess.
