Millennium Supreme Tournament 55 Piece Problems
Hi,
I've had my Supreme 55 since October, and I'm also having issues with pieces no longer recognized by the board. So far, it has happened with 5 pieces. I purchases my board form Chesshouse.com, and they have been very helpful replacing the bad pieces. But, for a product at this price range you would expect better quality control.
Incredibly disappointing. My 3rd piece just failed. Bought mine from the manufacturer in Germany. Now I'm going to ask that they replace the entire set. And if I have more pieces that fail I'll ask for a refund.
From my email exchanges with chesshouse.com, this seems to bean unusual problem for the supreme 55. They just sent me a replacement set of pieces. Hopefully that will solve the problem.
All - just returned mine to Amazon. Second board I’ve had where board not recognising pieces. Appauling! 🇬🇧
I have an update to my issues with the Supreme 55 pieces not being recognized. Chesshouse sent me a new set of pieces about two months ago. I have played many games with the set against opponents on chess.com, and have had no issues at all. I think the new set of pieces has done the trick for me, but time will tell.
I have to say that is was disappointing to have issues with an expensive set like the Supreme 55, but the staff at Chesshouse really worked with me to resolve the problem.
Being able to play online at chess.com with a full size tournament board is worth the headache :-)
Hi Guys, ive recently purchased a Tournament 55 and after firing it up for the first time it doesnt recognise 2 pieces. Im going to contact the retailer for replacements. I was wondering how the guys WinkinBlinkin CFossa that got replacements mentioned on here are getting on now? any more issues?
@mp93899 I've been using the new set of pieces that Chesshoue sent me for 4-5 months now with no problems. It seems I just had a defective set of pieces when I first purchased the Supreme 55.
Good luck! I know it's frustrating to have this set and not be able to us it. Hopefully this gets resolved for you quickly.
@CFossa thanks for the quick reply. That gives me some confidence that this is a teething issue more than an overall quality problem. It certainly is frustrating, hopefully the retailer will deal with the issue swiftly as you say.
I've had no issues since the company gave me a completely new set of pieces. Don't settle for two replacement pieces for your defective ones. Make sure they give you a whole new set.
Yes - totally agree on a complete replacement set. They replaced individual pieces for me, but I kept having others fail. But, no issues at all with the new set.
just thought i would update on my situation. I had total of 3 pieces fail. The retailer has sent a complete set as replacements and things seem ok now. Was wondering how you guys are getting on? @WinkinBlinkin @CFossa
I also had three pieces that went faulty all on the same day. I emailed The House of Staunton which was the place of purchase but they directed me back to Millennium. Millennium's response was great and they sent me back a full set of pieces with full apologies as well which I was very surprised and grateful, but at the same time I think it was their silent admission that they were saying "here's a full set, because we are expecting more to go faulty". I suppose it's not Millennium's fault and they would have found out later that the production to who ever they contracted it to do did a shonky job. Judging by all these posts and as I mentioned to Millennium all these faulty pieces started happening when the boards were manufactured in 2023 and not a single incident in 2021 or 2022. I have two Tournament Supreme 55 boards. One purchased in 2021 and still today I have never had a single faulty piece, but the one purchased in 2023 had three faulty pieces all on one day.
