Minor Pieces Mate.

Pretend Rg1 is at Rh1. Mate in 2.

Sounds easy right? But how about in a game? I will show it. First, solve the puzzle.

I don't think "White to move" is right. You are talking about a mate for black, aren't you?

1. Bh3+
2. Nf3# (no matter where the king goes to)

And why pretend the rook is on h1? It doesn't seem to matter where it is.

Bh3+ Rg2

Correct. If the rook is at g1, then it can block bishop check, and there will be no mate in 2.

Most of you will get the idea. Can you apply it to a game? It will be hard, right? Except white made some blunders.

See it for yourself if white made blunders. If it did, can you find the best moves for black?
