If you only offered 2 game challenges to people rated higher than you, this is a pretty good way of legally increasing your rating without having to play chess at all.

That said, the way to avoid it, is not to accept any two game matches like this. Offer instead to start the 2nd game a few moves after the 1st.

To answer your question of what to do after this already is happening, I think there is no solution. You gave some good ideas, but like you said, nothing that guarantees you'll be able to stop it.

Here's a related scheme... but he beat 9 players, so what do you think the trick is? happy.png

So I guess it can still happen, even if you're only playing 1 game vs a person. They might be making you play a 3rd person.

So maybe if you spot this you could report it to chess.com and get them banned. I think chess.com should take it seriously because it messes up the ratings.

Make two moves quickly, one after the other. Then do not move in either game, until your opponent made 2 moves. This way, in one of the games your opponent will have to come up with his own move - or he loses by time. Then in the other game you can make another move, and the mirroring is broken. happy.png

Ah, I misunderstood the situation a bit. In this case, indeed, waiting till the last minute can work. For example, you are in a situation in which in your white game it's your turn to move; make your move. Since your opponent is a bit slower than you, after he makes this move on another board, you will have more time on that board to respond than him on the other board. He will be forced to improvise a move as black, and then in the other game you can play another move, and the games diverge.

Use an umbrella - it'll stop your opponent from seeing the entire board - with the dual advantage that if it's an outdoor simul and it rains, you've got protection!

It also protects against sunstroke which you obviously had when you created this thread. Smile
