The Najdorf was the only serious opening I have had after I stopped playing 1...e5 which is what I always played since I learnt chess. However the book is crap, I dont think Im reading opening books ever again. Lol.

I lost Game 1 and Game 3 in a six round swiss to 6. Bc4 and 6. Bg5 respectively
So come Game 5 I could not face replying 1. ... c5 and went with the Caro-Kann.
As black I just did not ... e5 [Ruy Lopez, Two Knights,Giucco Piano etc] or the French or Alekhine or Pirc.
Do you have a back-up or is it always 1. ... c5 5. ... a6 ?

I religiously play 1...c5 altho I want to think Im good enough at chess to play most pawn structures with an idea of what I have to do.

@logozar thought it was a fun idea to use me as a Guinea Pig and we played some Caro Kann games in the exchange variation, so If I ever had to play something else it would probably be the Caro Kann.

I dont have the neccesity of playing different moves, but when playing blitz games against opponents I know I may face later on OTB I usually play all sorts of starting moves for Black and White.

Once I played 1.d4 and the dude played the King's Indian, little did he know I play the King's Indian as Black, and for some reason, I usually crush it from the White side, which is not a good feeling.

You are calling him a patzer, yet you say he is roughly NM strength. An NM is a patzer?

Because top chess players are competitive, that is impossible, it is against their whole nature.

The point that everyone has missed up to now is that all those overrated caveman patzers?  They were pretty good.  In fact, they were as good as Morphy.  It says so right here on the internet.  So it can't be wrong, can it?  You could put it in a report and turn it in to your teacher.  Just quote me, RCMorea at chess.com.  You can't get better sourcing than that.  OK?  Glad I could help.

The first step is to not have a teletubby as your icon.  Since you already are rated >2000 at bullet, just by taking this one step you should be a GM in no time.

Indeed, as I understand it, the weight of the historical evidence is that Morphy never looked in Basic Chess Endings, My System, and Secrets of Modern Chess Strategy. If he looked at Chess Praxis, it would have been after his major tournament and match events in 1857 and 1858.

Morphy probably never looked at Modern Chess Openings.

Was this stupid on purpose? Neither did the players mentioned before looked at it.

Did they have access to some of the information that went into the writing of MCO?
