Most beautifull game

Hello all,

I'm not very active in online chess right now, but I have a question in which I think the chess.com members could be very helpfull.

I am the owner off a jewelry-store and I sponsor a chesscompetition. As part off the sponsoring I also offer a price for the most beautifull game played.

Offcourse this will be subject to opinion.

Now here comes the question;

Which parts off a chessgame should/can be judged to decide the most beautifull game?

Thats like asking "what parts of an art piece should/can be judged to decide whether its beautiful".

IMO, your best bet would be to put it to a community. You could have a vote by chess.com members, and you could always limit it to players of a certain rating minimum, or whatever.

thx for your answer.

I know what I am asking.  The competition will be over a 1 year period and there might be a lot off entries. Besides that I will also offer prices in ratingranges. However a lower ratingrange can also win the 1st price offcourse. To accomodate this, I thought it would be usefull and transparant to give certain points for specific parts off the game and then accumulate these points to make a rankinglist.

So far I have the skeleton for the following system

1) Two players (always the same) act as judges they will give the game a general rating from 1-10.

2) The same players will also judge certain aspects(*) off the game, which can gain points

3) Fritz 10 will analyse the game at -x- seconds per move (lets say 20 for now). ! & !! added by the machine will gain points while ? & ?? will lose some. Offcourse the soundness off the moves has influence but just to some degree. So the influence off this computeranalysis will never become more then 20%

The judges will be given the games without the players names and teamnames.

(*) These certain aspects is what I am asking for so far I only have:  slow play vs sharp play (sharp play will score higer)  , creativity & tactics
