Most insane opening

Branches out from the philidor.

note : i scrolled through lichess and chess.com database and found out that moves from to dxc3 are most commonly played below 1600 elo, with more than 50 percent of players playing the moves i put down below.

this gambit has almost no risk. Even if you played the wrong move not approved by stockfish, you can still hunt down the opponent very easily as it is often out in the open. Your king is already safe from castling. Just dont blunder. Unlike white, in most variations black has to defend with 100 accuracy to win or secure at least a draw.

enjoy!

Wow seems like a really solid trap! I doubt that position is common though, Is it?

It probably will not be very effective to learn a “trap” which requires from your opponent 5 idiotic moves in a row.

Guys, by the way, even if black deviates from the line I said, your position is very much comfortable. Dont panic. (You can check stockfish, it agrees)

good moves are pretty easy to find.

How I play this opening is to put both bishops on c 4 and b 2, both knights out to c3 and f3, castle kingside, rooks in the Center , queen attacking one of blacks kingside/ queenside pawns, and to push f4 in the middle game. One tiny mistake from Black and you can release both bishops.

unlikr the danish( with a somewhat similar postition) you actually are much safer and you have the caliber to launch a queen and kingside assault.

From 1000 to 2500 elo on lichess, after bc4, h6 is the most common move played by 22percent.

after d4, exd4 is played by 60 percent, and dxc3 is played by also 60 percent, with white having a 61 win rate to blacks 35 percent.

btw, after dxc3, u are winning by plus .

if they do not take the bishop, but move king, you are winning by plus 5 .

Seems like a pretty solid gambit even though you lost a bunch of pieces just for a queen. I mean you are winning by 1 point but is it really worth it? Sorry for sounding somewhat kind of rude.

Its okay! Its not about material but rather how unsafe blacks king is. Most players cannot defend without a queen and exposed king.

it is definitely worth trying.
