GOOOOOOOOOOO~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PAWN!
I love pawns, they are my winning champions!
Every piece is useful, but I have a personal dislike of Knights as bishop typicaly beats knight in endgame
More games are won from lost positions as a consequence of a Knight than of a Bishop. Many people make game-losing blunders because they havn't analysed where the enemy Knight can go.
No piece is 'useless' as already stated. In chess it ALWAYS depends on the position, in some cases a Bishop is more useful than a Queen, and if you need proof then I can provide it!
THE MOST USELESS PIECE IN CHESS IS THE ONE WHO MOVES THEM AND LOSING IN THE END ! EACH PIECE HAS A SPECIAL FUNCTION AND IT'S UP TO THE MAN TO MAXIMIZE THEIR POWERS TO WIN A GAME. SO IN SHORT, THERE IS NO SUCH USELESS PIECE. A TRAPPED BISHOP MAY BE THE SCAPEGOAT OF A CERTAIN DEFEAT- BUT IT CAN BE A HERO IN ANOTHER GAME. SO GOOD LUCK CHESS LOVERS AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR PIECES THE A GOOD KING DOES TO HIS SOLDIERS.
As stated before, the "uselessness" of a piece depends on the position, and if you have a passed pawn that is close to "queening", some positions make a knight a better choice than a queen. The only reason a piece would be useless is if the incompetent player poorly developed it.
For me I think rooks are the most useless. Every time I play them to their strongest posts at a3 and h3 in the first couple moves of a game they get picked off by enemy bishops!
Every piece has a purpose. Even if a particular game leaves a piece out, it does not make that piece useless.
I agree in some games a piece might not be used, but all pieces have purposes. Even the a and h pawns. Thank You GeneralMiller for writing that.
useless piece: that's real tough to say because they all complement each other so well. I'd say the bishop because the queen moves like a bishop. my answer would not be the knight because it's unique. it definitely wouldn't be a pawn because they set up so much action. the queen can do anything. a rook goes all over the place quickly. so by process of elimination; I'd say bishop.
Applying that same logic, coundn't the rook be the most useless piece by process of elimination, also? It does the same thing as the queen, too.
I'VE BEEN PLAYING THE COMPUTER ALL DAY AND LOL ONCE THE QUEEN IS FUCKED IT’S ALL OVER BUT THE SCREAMING!!!...YUP
SERIOUSLY, THOUGH THE KING IS OBVIOUSLY THE MOST USELESS PIECE!! JESUS CHRIST CAN'T EVEN MAKE A GODDAM MOVE JESUS!!
LOL OF COURSE THE KING IS THE MOST USELESS PIECE!! LOOK AT HISTORY!! MATRIARCHY!!! LOL HISTORY LESSON FOR YA!! JUST FUCKING CLASSIC!! THE KING THE MOST POWERFUL PIECE OF ALL IS THE MOST USELESS PIECE!!! JESUS CHRIST!!!GOD!!!
Just a word of friendly advice, Benjamin666999: Tossing f bombs around can get you restricted from posting or even booted. They take "family friendly" pretty seriously around here.
I think the power of the rook and the queen is similar - the threat that they can be deployed, and the ability to sacrifice them (and be confident that the other player will take the bait because of their value) for a smart combination. The bishop has some redundancy with the queen, can be rendered immobile more easily than the other major pieces, and has half the board permanently unavailable to it - for those reasons it gets my vote, though I would call it "less useful" instead of "most useless", they are not the same thing.
