True the rook see s little action early in the game but becomes valuable as the game unfolds and is vital in the endgame imo ! There are no useless pieces it’s how you use them ?

Well some pieces are useless because they are not needed in your plan to stop your opponent. Overall the king is useless because the king does nothing the whole game.

The king is useful at the endgame because it seems like that is your only option, if you have no pieces left well the king has to do something. But when the king is in danger well that can mean game over for you.

I think anything can be better and more useful than a king. But in the end game a king has to do something because that is how the rules work all his servant has been captured.

In the endgame that is when people lose because the king gets captured. That is why you don't normally use the king at all unless you really need to, but without putting him in danger.

This is what I mean, I hate the king because when he is attacked there is a chance you can lose for good.
Also do you guys give up when your queen gets captured for nothing? This guy I vs gave up right away.
