Slowing down and screwing up is a good sign, you're trying to change the way you play... so play at least some games at a longer time control, give yourself the time you need to think through it.
I'd say at least once a week, play a few games at something like G/30. Human opponents are preferred, but if nothing else you can always play an engine, so no excuses
Hey All!
Looking for some advice for my chess learning. I causally played around 1000 games learning the basics etc. and made it to 1200 from whatever the starting 500 was. Once I hit low 1200s (10min blitz) I started titling. So I stopped playing 10min blitz and focused on puzzles, reading, and watching.
I've made it past 1500 in puzzle rush. I do the daily puzzle. I now watch GM Hess on Twitch. I have been reading the book Logical Chess Move by Move. And I only played level 7 and level 8 computers.
However now that I started 10min bliz again my play is slower as I try and incorporate my learnings. Any advice? Should I just continue learning and avoid blitz until later on. I am looking to break 1400 in the next few months but tilt very easily in games.
Thanks!
