Brazil (continues): "The thing about Gulko is he always had beefs with the Soviet Government. He was what we call a "refusenik", big trouble with the government. Like sun Tzu says "The nail that sticks its head up gets it hammered down." & like Stalin says : "There is a man there is a problem. There is no man there is no problem." That's why i got out of Russia in 1978. Gulko could not get out until until 1986 when he was 39. Boris won USSR Championship in !977 Leningrad & two time US Champion 1994 & 1999. The only one ever to win both USSR &US Championship. His wife Anna Akhsharumova is a woman GM & was also a "refusenik". Boris was once arrested & beaten by the KGB because of his mouth. He wrote a book in US titled: "The KGB Plays Chess: The Soviet Secret Police & The Fight For the World Chess Crown". Boris can afford to write on a subject like that because he lives in Fairlawn, New Jersey today with his wife far away from the clutches of his nemesis the KGB. Boris is a beautiful guy I knew him very well back in Russia. " Brazil said at a rat- a- tat- tat-tat pace. The Pablo escobar was doing it's work. Brazil's mind was moving at the speed of light.
