I'm so hyped! The tournament is like 3h:30 away from where I live so maybe my parents won't even let me go, but in case I do how do I prepare? should I review openings? Should I solve tactics? if so how much? and how long? Should I not do chess at all? How much should I sleep? what should I eat? Please answer quickly everyone!

Ur rating is rlly good so I'm pretty confident that you will do extremely well. I'm no expert but I would say have 2 openings for white and 2 openings for black. You should also know some theories in other openings. I say you should do some chess puzzles so you are ready for the tourney. Make sure you get a lot of sleep so you will be refreshed. Idk what you should eat. Hope it helps and Good luck! thumbup.png

Hopefully you have been using a real board lately because sometimes switching from online to real tournaments can throw you off a bit.

KingCobra280,
I’m very underrated OTB, and I’m so stressed that I won’t be able to prove my strength

I’m much better online than OTB. Last tournament I played I lost against much lower rated opponents

I would think the hardest part is adjusting to the much slower time controls when you have mostly been playing bullet and 3 minute blitz.

Getting used to actually making use of time is a challenge.

Exercise gets rid of stress. Do loads of it the day before. Eat sensibly, sleep well and solve a few chess puzzles an hour or two before, to get yourself thinking.
