Involved, I think at least four players playing the Orangutan and playing it accurately.

A new trend is appearing in chess in which obscure openings are intended to bring opponents into theory they are not aware of. What are the stangest openings you have encountered and did it effect your play?

I encountered, the borg opening twice only the other day and they managed to play a consistent game.

I frequently play the Orangutan, probably not 'accurately' by most standards, I like the pretty much unexplored 3 f4?! line

That kind of double fianchetto openings are quite annoying in blitz games.

For example this kind of defense with black .. didn't know the name of it

Interesting, because it does not follow opening theory. Without a computer evaluation, I'd bet at least a 60% advantage is for black when playing it;

There is an illusion right now, suggesting improper play leads to wins... well... maybe in the low regions of play. When you play people like me, I exploit the error.

Many will, and perhaps... many should.

Only creativity compicated a situation, not a few moves into opening theory. Orangutan can be used, but by only experienced players.
