cheater_1 is right. he does deserve some recognition and thanks.

- thank you for your wonderful work of fiction that you made up after you lost the game about how you are a programmer working on a mysterious new chess engine... that was hilarious!

- thank you for showing us all what happens at age 40 when you miss out on something in your childhood (like legitimately winning).

- thank you for teaching us how to be a predictable online attention hog: make controversial post with LOTS OF CAPITAL LETTERS and then when people start ignoring you POST AGAIN because without the attention you feel INSIGNIFICANT AND BORED with your regular life. rinse, repeat. 

- thank you for thanking me for allowing you to have a stage that you don't deserve.

- thank you for making your next response post to my post here by saying "oh, i had no idea that Erik can be so mean, blah blah blah" and then trying to parlay your response into earning some sympathy from teenagers who will probably grow up to be like you.

let's face it: your persona is old news now. a real predictable sleeper. like when a movie is on part 8 and should have stopped at part 4. it's embarrassing for the actors involved, etc.

my recommendation is to come back with a new and different persona. maybe a white-collar criminal jail in a minimum security prison who has sneaked in a laptop with global internet and Chess.com is your last bastion of sanity and we'll be on the edge of our seats hoping you don't get caught. or you are from the FBI and you are tracking online bad guys doing nigerian scams. whatever.but you should try and leave your legacy with a shred of dignity: that you came, you turned a few heads, you played a respectable game until you blundered, you got the owner of chess.com to pay some attention to you, yada yada. i think it's time for you to do like Mike Tyson and "fade into Bolivia"...

Erik can you like restrict cheater from making these long rants? No joke, right when i read the forum title i thought 'thats something cheater would write'... caps and something very self centered... Get a life cheater_1.

The only (parting, I hope)  question I have for cheater_1 is:  Did you ever replace the broken $10.99 fan on your steroid-infused, state-of-the-art computer?

To ERIK, I somehow knew you wouldnt acknowledge anything. Once again, this aint no persona. This is ME. Do you get bored with your wife, girlfriend, child, etc. because they are the same, day in and day out? This is who I am. Part-time chess aficiando, part chess GURU, part chess engine inventor, part jerk, part loudmouth, part genius, part TRUTH SPEAKER,etc. etc. etc. I have never broke my word on this site since I became a member. I call it like I see it everytime. A coworker of mine (a longtime friend) once asked me what I thought of her new hairstyle and I told her it looked like stevie wonder did it. She refused to talk to me for weeks. It's a fault of mine, I dont LIE. I have little or no TACT. I'm kinda like the Simon Cowell of this site.

I existed for many months on this site before our vote game and will continue to do so. In fact, gauging by the number of emails and friend requests I get per day, I'd say that my popularity has SOARED. But it's an underground thing. Judging by the forums, I am mostly HATED....judging by my private conversations with people, I am semi-revered. It's fashionable to hate me.

I love chess engines and want to use them as much as I can. I am a social misfit and would rather deal with the coldness of a chess program than people. I suspect a lot of people are bored with me is because I HAVENT CHANGED. I havent come up with some new thrilling tale to tell as I did when I logged on in NOVEMBER with my "coming out" at cheating at USCF events live. I have layed my life out in the open for all of you people, to be bored with me indicates that you want me to come up with some other provocative story.....AINT GONNA HAPPEN. I dont invent stories to amuse people. I cheated twice at USCF events and won and dont do it anymore, there is nothing more to tell. Let's not relive those old days, shall we?

To state that you are all bored with me harkens back to the saying, "Only the boring people get bored easily."

There are only 2 REASONS why I am still here in this site, and I'll lay them out now. #1 reason....I am still here simply because ERIK tolerates me. True, he could delete this account with the click of a button, and I could go into the reasons why he has not yet done so, but that is not necessary. #2 reason....the people of this site give me power. Here's a hint, I COULD lose interest in this site VERY VERY quickly if everyone just ignored me and wouldnt respond to my posts. I dont flood the forums and it's quite rare that I ever have more than one topic on the leader board. When I start a topic, it gets its share of responses and then fades away, like all the others. I actually like when it gets 100% negative comments. Trust me, youre not going to scare me away by saying that you all hate me, I should be deleted, etc. That makes me wanna stay MORE. What gets me though, what I find fascinating, is the people who want to be my "friend" or write me emails stating that they like me etc. WHAT A JOKE! Those people have ULTERIOR motives. I will NEVER choose to be on someones friend list. I will never try to be your best buddy and talk like were on good terms. I have done it before inorder to get to the bottom of why people want to be my friend, but my guard goes up TRIPLE-FOLD when someone wants to get close.

HATE ME...that's how I like it.

Cheater... we might not need you but you have made it loud and clear that you need us. You want people to get worked up so you can then give them what you think is a witty reply. If your needs arn't filled here on chess.com, I'm sure you would find another place to fill them.

Have read a few of your posts and each time I've had a very strong urge to pass along a bit of info to you.  Have resisted up until this point, but I can no longer contain myself . . . so here goes:

But seriously, what WOULD we do without Cheater_1??? He SAVES this site from being a COMPLETE bore. Without him, we would just be playing peaceful CHESS matches day in and day out, with no flavour in our discussion threads. He is the SAVIOUR of online chess culture! This analogy may be stretching it, but bear with me as I am a complete loser and HAVE to think of some witty analogy: Cheater_1 is like the Moses of Chess.com! He is like Mother Theresa, even! He gives us PURPOSE and HOPE, INSPIRES every last one of us to cheat!

Okay I am just really bored... like Cheater_1 probably is when he makes those long rants.

CANNIBAL 37 update: 

After the 4th of July, I will be meeting with my fellow COHORTS to begin revising the code of our chess engine CANNIBAL. As we all have our own lives and obligations, and based on how long it took to upgrade to the next version in the past, and all the post-upgrade tests that need to be conducted, I suspect the 37th version will be ready to go on or about the first of September 2008.

It will, without a doubt, be stronger than before. Just thought that all my "friends & fans" would appreciate the update.

You wanna know what I cant stand? It is people who HATE people or want to see people banned (you can insert the word "exterminate" in place of banned) solely because of what they say or how they act. Nazi Germany 1939....hmmmmmmm?

If you people actually put 1/10th of the effort into chess as I do into engine development, you'd become a master class player in a few years. GUARANTEED. 

Always keep in mind.....ALWAYS..that it was the good people of this site that used computer aided chess to BEAT me solely to prove a point. THAT is SOLELY the reason that I took up computer aided chess so loooooong ago, to beat the tough talking, trash talking, loudmouth jerks that trolled the other chess sites. I couldnt beat them on my own merits so I was FORCED to resort to other measures just to win, just so I could return their trash to them, much as you all have done to me. I have received about 4 or 5 emails from people on this site who think that I actually THREW the game, lost on purpose, just to make that point. Made the good people of this site DO exactly what I did, cross over to the dark side, just to prove a point. To those people I say, I like your line of thinking, it shows great intelligence to SEE that, but no, my program blundered on its own.

HENCEFORTH, I will strike the word "cheat" or "cheater" from my vocabulary....I'm sure it'll slip through a few times here and there. Let's all ABOLISH the word cheater (except for my name) and replace it with computer aided chess.

 We can't ban Cheater_1! Chess.com wouldn't exist without Cheater_1! At least that's what (s)he said and Cheater_1 doesn't lie!

 So why haven't you put in 1/10 the effort and become a master class player?

I started playing chess somewhere in the mid to late 1970's. I never took it as anything but a fun game, to be played on weekends with your friends. I never TRIED to excel at it. With the advent of personal computers (namely the commodore 64) I found chess programs more to my liking.

Chess is a game to me, nothing more. I don't take it as serious as others. I dont strive to become better. My time is past. You have to STUDY hard EARLY in your life to ever become world class. NO world class players ever took up chess late in life. It's like learning a second language, it's near IMPOSSIBLE to become fluent the older you get. Studies have been done on this so dont try to prove me wrong.

Chess programs are what gets me excited.

I think the reason the vote game was so popular, and the reason why people wanted to win so bad, is just to beat you, not to prove something about your program.
