I also want to mention that it makes sense lots of older people don't want to spend time studying chess, there are too much information in your head and not a lot of space to the game. Chess is a VERY complex game and if you don't study many hours before you play a live game then you will lose easily to some guys because you are going to make random moves that is not theoretically correct. That's why I think chess should be mandatory taught in schools at an early age, since kids don't have much to think about. And if they get really good maybe they can be the next carlsen, win-win situation?
my mind is blown that any chess player could be below a 1300

some moderator should warn kasparov_jr, it's obvious he only wants to cause problems and bully other people, I think you refer to him as a jockey or whatever it's called in murica lol!
I made a thread asking what is keeping low rated players from becoming over 1300 rated .........and I get many personalattacks from random members insulting me , yet you say I'm the one bullying people.
how about you actually read the thread for starters?
This is actually the truth. And he is correct, if you go back and read he never acutally directly insulted people for not getting past 1300.
The post and comments about 900 rated players, however, were quite condescending.
He said that it blows his mind how it is possible that any adult person that have played for 3 months can not achieve the 1300 mark. As if reaching the 1300 mark is something very easy and you must be stupid to not achieve it.
Then he brags that he was a 1400 when he was 6 years old.
Then he says that someone that has been playing chess for 20 years and is a 900, is a mentally challenged person.
Then he is surprised that he is being called a bully and that he should get warned.

2. I barely joined chess.com like 2 weeks, and I'm low rated in correspondence chess so I can play in a sub 1400 section in a tournament. I'm 1860 for blitz & bullet.
and? feeling good crushing the U1400 players?

Chess players are divided by their grades but united by their inability to pick up girls in bars.
Tell that to the Carlsen boy

I am beginning to think that you are just trolling. Mr. Undefeated at 960 chess, you have only one game so far genius!!
Second thing, you really show how much of an immature and insecure person you are. That kind of people are the ones that make comments like yours.
I know it hurts for you to admit it buddy, but at chess you are a complete nobody. 1800 is not impressive at all to be considered "somebody" at chess. You may be better than me and you may beat me 10 times out of 10, so what? You are still an amateur. I would also beat 10 times out of 10 many other people, and not because of that I will be something special. There are many amateur people that would beat you 10 times out of 10.
You just have such a low self esteem that you need to compare yourself to other ones. And you compare yourself to people that have a lower ELO, so you can feel a bit better about yourself.
I pity you.
lol now I am the one who is immature & insecure, yet you are the only one who is making personal attacks & insulting me. good job being a hypocrite :)
I already told you I stopped playing competetive chess after elemantary school, where I had won 1st place in multiple state tournaments & placed 1st place in k-5 championships in USA nationals. I obviously had lot of potential at a young age, but I stopped since I had little interest once I reached middle/high school.
maybe you should spend less time insulting people, and spend more time trying to break the 1300 barrier, which I already had broke by the time I was 7 years old

Amen brother. You got any good lines?
My best one is "Hey sexy lady, wanna see my bishop?"
So far it is me 0, unlucky ladies who said no 1, 487

actually that is why I made this thread, since in my opinion reaching 1300 was really easy for me, I am wondering why others struggle to reach past this rating with proper studying/practice.
oh please, it's only logical to assume someone who has practiced chess for 20 years yet still has a 900 rating to have something wrong with them. who are we kidding? 20 years of chess with a 900 rating is horrible no matter what.

No one cares about what you could have been. Yes you could have been the next Kasparov and if you continued playing, now you would be world champion. You can tell all the tales you want. Fact is that today you are another amateur player, yet you act as if you are the real deal. You are a nobody.
And yes, you are the immature one, and if I have been keep answering to you is because I do not like douchebags that feel superior to other people. People like you need to be put in their place.
And with your comment of me having to spend time trying to break the 1300 barrier that you broke when you was 7 year old just shows once again how childish and insecure you really are.
I am not telling that I would beat you in a chess match (However anything can happen). I am telling you to stop bashing other people and stop thinking that you are something special beacuse you are obviously not.

I think you've just admitted to cheating.
not really. I only played like 5 games of correspondence chess just so I could be elible to play in a tournament ( you need 5 games to play in a tourmanet). the tournament already began, so my rating should do nothing but go higher from now.
I've just looked at your correspondence games and you deliberately lost games by making ridiculous moves.
To me that is cheating and/or sandbagging. This is one example:-
that was like my 1st game of correspondence chess in this website which bored me to death, I've only lost 1 game since then.

seriously makes me wonder how any chess player could legit be under 1300 rating unless they are a young child.
if you have played chess longer than 3 months, you should at least be a 1300. I was already a 1400 when I was about 6 or 7 years old, and I see some players here in chess.com barely struggling to reach 1300.
are some people just naturally good at chess with high IQ? do you guys practice effeciently? what is stoping you from being a 1300 and higher?
with your logic you might as well ask why any legit player isn't a international master or GM.

Tell that to the people that have no big money, no power at all, they are not really handsome, and yet they bang chicks left and right. (And I am not talking about prostitutes).
It is all about having a solid game.
Money, power, all that stuff obviously helps a lot. But it is definitely possible to have beautiful women without that.
But anyway, that is a topic for another thread.

They pick him up. A professional footballer (soccer player) was saying on the radio that didn't try and pull . All they had to do was walk into the bar.
My tip for the rest of us in a bar scenario would be to not mention you are a chess player. Watch for meaningful eye contact and then speak any old load of rubbish to them - they'll be glad of the attention.

I already did my part in winning pretty much the highest possible event as a scholatic chess player in the United States which is the biggest accomomplishment you can get.
you keep saying I'm a nobody, and that is because I dont even practice anymore , yet I'm still higher rated than 80% of the players in this website.
your the only one bringing down people here, your here to say that I suck, yet you are the 1200 here.

people that try to score doesn't - they are too desperate and make them appear foolish.
if you are confident and do not try to score. - you will.
if you try to score you plan all sorts of strategy.
if you don't try - you are just you.
It's a fact that to become good at chess you have to play and study lots of games as apparently a grandmaster has pieces of thousands of games stored in his memory and retrieves them when it comes to playing positions just something I read in the paper lol
