what's that supposed to be?
My nephew beat HOUDINI?!?!

No human is able to beat houdini Goddamit. Houdini is about 3300 rating.
Maybe your laptop is kinda slow giving houdini about 2500 or less, specially limiting its time.
If the boy could really beat Houdini 3, for real, then he is already the best player in the world. He could make his way to WC in less than 2 years, but I don't believe he is really that good right now, maybe later he could get there.

lots of discussion on this topic, i didn't bother to go through it all, looks like this uncle was easily fooled by an eleven year old kid who simply looked at the interface to see the book moves and Houdini's analysis, and happened to get a book line where White was better, and could win. Most interfaces when you play against a comp show the book moves, and usually the analysis, unless you hide them. So this is quite easy, except for the computer illiterate uncle i suppose :)

I beat Fritz 12 but only on its gimped "2100" mode at best. It should really drop the queen's pawn games as white as it doesn't know how to play against the Dutch or Queen's Indian systems or 1...d5 as black. On its inflated but still very strong over 3000 "unleashed" it crushes anything, even on 10 minutes per side!

I didn't think engines resigned...
The last person I said that to was called Kasparov! Who was really making the moves? Vishy? Yeah, it even has resign text.

Yep, the story's just too incredible to believe. I mean, who would actually name his dog Adam?
Anyway, the above quoted part of the OP's story doesn't quite seem to fit with his profile name and online USCF history. Maybe he'll have a good explanation for that.
He lives in NJ. I checked it out tonight. No record of him playing that I could find. How could this be in a database? I thought only rated games were on them; unless This was a "double" of a coincidently identical game played years ago.

Played 3 games in one tournament in March 2012. His post tournament rating was 807 (P3). He claimed an 1100 performance, whatever that means.

i hate to break it to you, but you nephew probably found a way to use the engine to help him win the game. No doubt he has talent, but if there was a kid that strong we would be hearing about this amazing kid who beats houdini. just stating my opinion. i have no doubt though that he does have a lot of tallent....

So then is Magnus Carlsen autistic? What do you guys think about Street Fighter players like Justin Wong or Daigo Umehara...

Yeah chess titans, but all chess engines are beatable regardless what level. They have a pattern like the CPU controlled characters in fighting games...
This is completely false. Fighting games are games of psychology, Chess is a game of perfect information. I cant see anyone besides maybe Carlsen taking games from houdini
Not to say it's true or not, but people with autism on occasion can do things at incredible rates. There are people who never played an instrument in their life, had something cause brain damage, then they became incredible within months. He COULD be a savant and is capable of playing chess as good as a computer because his mind essentially IS a computer. Ever seen Rain Man and how he calculates HUGE numbers? That isn't just in movies y'know...
I for one am autistic and have beat the HARD computer here and beat Sigma Chess 6.2, in which Sigma Chess's rating is 2500.
Yet your rating sucks ass. Or are you being sarcastic?
No one who gets so excited about beating the HARD computer could possibly claim to beat a 2500 rated engine anyways.
