I did this too!
I had a similar drop a few months ago but I recovered.
I think it's partially because the gain/loss of points is at a higher magnitude (I sometimes get +18 for one correct).

At least you still have a 61% pass rate...
My pass rate is below 50%.
omg dude your rating is 2541 , i wonder if the pass rate decrease as your rating increases
It does. Usually you can solve a couple moves in a puzzle, but that barely decreases your rating. So about 2 of those “half missed” = 1 solved in a reasonable time. Some of the puzzles count as “missed” but give you a +2, which confuses things even more.

I don't think that the site's rating system for tactics is good enough. Suppose you have to play 5 moves to get a tactic correct (a slightly winning position only at the end). On the 5th move you hung a queen and handed a huge advantage to the other side. The system still rewards you with up to 80% score even though you should have lost a position.
It's like saying, living in a building which is only 80% structurally complete is 80% safe.
Rightfully the tactics system should penalise players for getting later stages of the puzzle wrong as though the player got the tactic wrong.
I understand why the tactics rating system is designed that way, but this produces players with an overrated tactics rating (just like mine).
Next target: 2150
i have encountered some puzzles where the solution is to draw, I always lose those. Don't know if i can survive 2100 XD
I just had a puzzle yesterday (I failed!) where it appears that there was some kind of mate along the a-file (as I had pieces on the b-file) but I was surprised when the correct move is to capture the bishop on f5 using my b5 queen...
Three puzzles for you from my games. Based on the average difficulty and the ratings associated with it, these could easily be 2000 rated puzzles on this site. The second one is the easiest of the three.

Lol
Well, I will say puzzles are important and see that I have gained 100 points in Live-Rapid on chess.com as I do almost 50 puzzles every day and my rating in tactic is around 2256. Yes, I have also sometimes faced a huge fall in my rating but its ok. It happens with everyone sometime or other. My aim is to reach 2400 in puzzles in a month.

Should not be the case, but I rushed through many my puzzles so currently I have a 45% pass rate (2966 passes and 3601 failures). On most days I complete each puzzle within seconds. Exceptions are when I feel like thinking out the puzzles or I find a puzzle really interesting to occupy my time.
