a) play 2/1 which should boost your bullet rating, self-confidence and give you stronger opponents (yes, 2/1 is still bullet, but the pace is close to 3/0 or fast blitz)
b) enable (through your Live chess "Settings"): auto-promote to Queen. This will often save a critical few seconds that can make the difference between winning or losing a game.
c) enable (through your Live chess "Settings"), "pre-move"; there will often be times that you know a 'safe' or 'obvious' move and can trust your opponent to play predictably enough that you will not lose by using a "pre-move". At such times, the site will make your move for you when it is your turn and you will save perhaps one second each time.
d) practice "seeing" the whole board, 1/0 in particular moves so very quickly that the details of particular moves are often not so critical compared to seeing obvious opportunities and traps developing anywhere on the board. If you're closely focussed on one area, you'll often not have time to be checking for opportunities and traps. You also may not be able to properly manage both attacking and defending quickly enough if you are not "seeing" the whole board.
e) It will probably help if you stay with one type of chess playing for several weeks. Switching between bullet and standard or blitz, will tend to weaken your rating results as they require very different strategies in both 'pace' and tactics. It takes much experience to be able to switch without weakening your playing strength when moving at a much different pace.
d) Choose just a couple of openings, preferrably not so very common openings and get to know them very well. If you use a weak opening that is uncommon, but, you know it very well, then you will become able to play it very quickly while your opponent will be slower (and more likely to fall prey to making weak responses to an uncommon opening).
For other types of Live Chess games, you may wish to change your settings (especially, the setting: auto-promotion to Queen, as of course there are some rare times when a different piece works much better).

Hello, my name is Yury. I recently joined Chess.com and I am enjoying everything here. I haven't played chess in a very long time, but I seem to remember how to play for the most part. I am moderately good at Blitz/Standard, but I've never played bullet before. Can anyone give me any advice? Basic strategy? Good openings? Anything?! I'M DESPERATE! I am horrible at bullet. I always time out or else I move way to quickly without any sense of order and end up getting pummeled. ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!
