Need help with Deep Fritz 14 !

I installed DF 14 without any hassles. Now, when i start a new game, the computer wont make any moves. its like playing a 2 player mode.
When i play a rated game it seems to work fine.

The interface is quite complicated, I still can't figure out how to play a normal game with the computer when i start a new game. What am i missing here? 

I have v12. On this one, if you go to Engine in the menu there is an option called 'Switch Off Engine'. If this is unchecked, then it will make moves.

Another problem that DF14 has is that it keeps Crashing when i change or set new settings.

Any Idea on that ?

I recently purchased Deep Fritz 14, but I couldn't find any manual explaining the functionalities. I downloaded Deep Fritz 13 manual (in PDF format), that's helpful, but I cannot believe there is no manual for the 14 version. 

We've created a program that can defeat the strongest grandmasters at their best, but it also happens to be completely retarded. Please be understanding.

I still haven't figured out how to start a game. That is where the pieces move. I've tried disconnecting the engines and still nothing.
