I am building two opening books for a modifiable chess engine with personality settings, and configurable variables. But I'm not certain which openings I should give each.
Configuration 1 - This player is a python. Slow, positional, and relies mostly on the systematic destruction of all mobility of the opponent. Concerned primarily with safety and caution, defeats opponent by reducing squares, choices, and plans for them on the board. A Strangler. Not aggressive, but active only in that he seeks to kill any hope of attack or piece placement by opponent. Loves closed positions, and cramping his opponent until he strangles to death. Goal: Opponent has literally as few legal moves as possible without losing a piece. Takes the air out of the room, and the air along with it. Kingsafety 400, Attack 50, Opponent Mobility Reduction - 10,0000000.
What openings should I give him?
Configuration 2 - Defender to the point of satire. Makes "Passive" look like Paul Morphy. A lockbox. A Vault, a gunsafe. A block of marble. You have to beat him by beating the most defensive, careful thing possible. A Turtle. Crawls in a hole and you have to drag him out. Locks his king up, does nothing but protect, relies on only his opponent failing to break through, making mistakes that can be taken advantage of. Closed positions, will lock the board up entirely if possible. Basically counts on the endgame. Kingsafety: 500, Attack: 0.
