I had an OTB game once which finished as a draw instead of a win because my pawn got in the way. We each had two pawns and I won a pawn race with check but my king and other pawn were in just the wrong places that I couldn't check again and stop my opponent promoting.
Negative Pawn Value?

Yes, even at a 1200 level I've experienced a position where a pawn had negative value.

White just played 19 Kb1, the white king shelters in front of enemy pawn, leaving Black no defence to g5 and Nf6+
The b2-pawn is betraying the black queen from giving check.
