And yes, it is veering to a different subject but I think I'm allowed to do that if it's a thread started by me. If incorrect, please let me know and I'll start a different thread. But the question seemed simple enough to include here. :-)
The Knight and Castling
Another reason why I like to trade off my queen
So to you, do you consider that the game then turns into an endgame if both Queens are gone? Even if it happens say - on Move #11? That was another question on my list that I can check off!
I just trade because I'm not good with the queen

You can change subject of course
i personally never play Qg3/6 because unless i have a nice attack, its not great there, its neither actually defending nor actually attacking, im guessing you got this position from a Ruy lopez, c3 (same as in the italian) is basically a must
Funny you mention it but I was Ruy Lopez until a week or so ago. I'm switching to Scotch Game, I think (or Center Game) ... obviously I'm still opening-fluid right now, LOL.
I looked at your most recent game and your opponent missed a Greek gift in the middlegame // the a-file gave it away
Thank you! I'm on a 7 game losing streak. I'm trying for 8. My last game I resigned after blundering (I think) twice. My heart just isn't in the game right now. But I love to play to connect - know what I mean? Yeah, and I haven't done my own analysis at all for five days either. Bit of a funk, LOL.
ADDED: Ratings aren't that important to me. Besides, if I stay low-rated, this gives the low-rate-bashers something to do. ;-)
yea in your position in the game none of your knights are on outposts
but if you played c4 it would be an outpost for his knight because it cant be kicked by c3 or e3
same thing if he played c5
OH! I SEE IT!!! Perfect example!!! Thank you so much!!
The Knight can be pushed by a pawn, but other than that, the king is banned from castling.
Are you sane?
@ADAM_CHESS_A If you mean that the pawn can kick the Knight, it could if it were on c3. The Knight wouldn't stop castling as it sits (from my understanding but I'm a newb so ... ). But if that Knight went to e2 then I think you're right - it would have stopped castling.
@Bluemu nice to see you! Good demo, thank you. I've actually done that one and it is cheesy and very very fun! ![]()
Castling can have unexpected repercussions.
Here, it wins a Rook.
You always provide great examples. I appreciate them very much and I've returned to them more than once for refresher. Thank you.
