Neo Piece Set

Obviously, people can choose whatever set they prefer, but what do people think about the default Neo piece set?

Not an engaging topic apparently.

My take: I'm a little ambivalent. On the one hand, it seems a bit pandering to the lowest common denominator. It's like Chess Dot Com felt some users would find diagram-style pieces strange and confusing prompting them to create a set that looks more like physical pieces. On the other hand, I'll admit it is a pretty clever design compromise between looking like physical and diagram sets -- much better than, say, Yahoo pieces from back in the old days.

I'd never use it though.

It's my favorite set, actually. Soft edges, easy on the eyes, and lacks any gimmickry. I'd love to see a physical novelty set version, even though it would likely look cartooinish in 3D.

Can chess engines pick what style they use?

I use this, im happy with it, but I am an auty hehehe
