Hmm, I looked there and there wasn't anything I could find about it
New CCA Time Control?
Old time control was better. If they really needed to shorten time control I would rather go with 40/100 SD1. Ajusting clocks in the middle of the game (because of SD 30) doesn't appeal to me.
10 second delay idea?? - too bad. 5 sec. delay makes some sence, but if you wanna give more switch to time increament!
A 10s delay is becoming the norm in US tournaments. I wouldn't mind if we just went with the FIDE standard of 90+30.

If you learn how to set your clock properly you won't need to adjust it 'in the middle of a game.'
I think he means for an analog clock - the flag only falls at the top of the hour

He could always buy a clock made in this century.

Haha, true
As far as I know, pretty much all CCA (Continental chess association) tounraments were 40/120 SD 60 d5 up until recently...but now, most of them seem to be 40/110 SD 30 d10.
Why the change? Was there something so wrong with the longer time control? What's with the "40/110" idea?
Does anyone know any more about this or why it happened? Just because FIDE wants to shorten chess games to sell the game out to "Spectators" doesn't mean US organizations should follow, if that's what this is about...
