I played the AD as black before I learned what openings were. It was the only response to e4 that made sense to me. As I and my opponents got better the positions became very complicated during play and I was forced to learn some new tricks with black.. Here is a game that I played recently on chess.com using the AD. The first move white made that was off of the main line spelled disaster but is typical of the sharp positions and multiple threats typical of the defense.

This group is not about Alekhine defence..It is about Alekhine playing style.If you are an atacking player you should study Alekine`s games.Positional players are getting poked in the eye here lol..

I don't know all that much about Alekhine but it seems to me he just adapted into whatever situation he was in. True, he may have been a bad person, but not a horrible one. Besides, what does the Nazi have to do with the chess player.
Alekhine defence its played by actual very strong players.You just need to know what are you doing in this opening.And of corse no opening its gonna win games without middle and endgame.
