@belente YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY WRONG ABOUT THIS NEW UPDATE BEING A GOOD UPGRADE! It's full of flaws and I was told that Chess.com is in the process of fixing some of these problems. I HATE THIS SO-CALL "UPGRADE" AND YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT! Don't insult fellow members again!!! Don't ever use that kind of language (profanity) again or I'll get you banned classless fool!
New iPad app design

That's why I'm happy we still have V2 on Google Store for android.
V2 only has the ability to play live and correspondence, and has about 5-6 color and piece type, but it works wonders, clean, polished, fast.
I've downloaded V3, and it's really hard to navigate, too much stuff happening at the same time, it takes really long to load the pages, and about 4 times the size of the old one, and popping up ads (also video ads) are just terrible. It also drains the battery twice as fast.
I deleted it right away, and I really hope they leave the old version alone.
Staff needs to realise that works.
Leave the shiny modern stuff behind, it's annoying; we want a simple, clean interface that's fast and efficient.

All these whingers and childish comments, "won't use it anymore". Great new design guys, really easy to use and very smart interface.

I finally found the pieces I was using in the old app: Alpha. Now the game board looks like I'm used to seeing it. I also really like being able to do a pre-move. So my "1 star" has gone to a "3 star"...but you guys REALLY need to fix the bugs, especially the one where the sound doesn't occur when my opponent checks me. Fixing that one will raise my "rating" of the new version to a "4 star"...but I'm never going to give you. "5 star" rating because you threw this whole thing at us in such a sloppy way...and before it was truly ready for a rollout. I have 32 years of IT BACKGROUND, and the number one reason I left the industry was because of stupid and unrealistic deadlines where I was expected to produce software that was expected to work out-of-the box and not given the time or opportunity to produce the quality product I wanted to produce. You guys got in too big of a hurry. Where was the QC? Chess.com is still the best chess app out there, but you ought to give us all free premium upgrades for a year for the sheer aggravation of what I call a premature rollout. Just a suggestion... :-)

I'm trying to figure out the reports that moves with check are silent. So far, from what I'm seeing (hearing), the check-move sound (whether you deliver or receive check) is audible and distinct from normal move sounds. I just tested all of the sound-effects themes in Live Chess...
Any additional insight or observations on this would be appreciated! Thanks!

I'm with Sharon. I too work in software development and the mantra is 'do not upgrade removing features'. I really like the new app, how it looks, the usability has been definitely improved. But, my friends, now I have to use the browser for forums, tournaments, my home page. So we now need to use two apps where before we were using only one. You should have followed the windows phone app way, rolling out betas of the new app while mantaining the possibility to use also the old one. Anyway, still incomplete as it is, it's really well designed.

How do we look at member profiles, specifically other member's comment? Where are the privacy settings? How can I block a member? All in all I really like the new interface, it just seems there are some missing features.

DeepGreene, I've just spent a couple of hours playing live blitz chess, and most of the time when my opponent checks me, I hear absolutely nothing! I'm using an iPad mini with a custom board. Not sure what else I can tell you...but it's hugely frustrating. Most times when I put my opponent in check, I hear a sound, but less than 50% when I'm put in check. Hope you guys can figure this out soon!

DeepGreene, Would you please let us know when (hopefull you will) be fixing the missing items on Tactics? Would you let us know? We used to love it but now the iPad version is completely unusable.
I'm also in career software development. It's clear you rushed things and jumped over testing. Testing is that thing that testers do and includes regression testing (i.e. don't take away functionality).
Hope you are sitting around the management table with other Staff this week and coming up with the remedies. Would you let us know timing?
Please use a side-available Beta-release next time and don't force your unwilling users to test for you.

DeepGreene better answer these complaints ADEQUATELY ASAP! I ADVISE YOU TO CONFER WITH ERIK BEFORE MAKING A COMMENT! UNDERSTAND!?!
It's amazing how people will always find something stupid to whine about. The new app is in every way improved. Just adding pre moves already is reason to upgrade. The old app, it was like a high school programming project from 1995.
Did you post this using the iPad?
