The thing is that newcomers to the site don't understand the concept of correspondence chess. Most people are use to playing an entire game in one sitting.

Understandable to a point, but the terms are agreed between both players before the game starts.
Agreed, some people don't understand the way of correspondence chess but they should at least read the rules. As for speed of play, I wish more people would play one (1) day turn around. I find most want three day.

If my life were simple enough to play one day turnaround I wouldn't need to play correspondence.
Nothing more annoying than a new player wasting time ie. played one game and timed out then complains about the speed of the game in progress. Complete waste of my time and anyone else unfortunate enough to engage this player; no names but glance at my current opponent whose initial is 't' .
