I'm new here and really to chess in general. A friend of mine suggested I start here. Just looking for any helpful advice as far as operating around chess.com. Also what do the numbers next your move on the right mean in live play?

Start a new game but check about game time first. U will get to know everything.

Read a few books and just change the options for what kind of games you'd like to play. If you want to be a Grandmaster, read 500 chess books and spend days studying a single position. You need to know what chess notations and positions are if you want to get to, say, 1200 in playing strength. Eat less and exercise regularly. Most people are too lazy or have too much time on their hands to follow this advice, but in general people know this is the best way to succeed in chess.com. You can also view live games. As far as navigating through the website, you might have to figure that out on your own.
