Nice players on this site...

Before I start, this is purely directed at one player.  Im sorry admin if this is not allowed, you can delete it or whatever.  Im not trying to cause trouble, just getting out my anger towards players like [NAME DELETED].

Yes [NAME DELETED], I am calling you out for being a jerk and a coward.

I played a match against [NAME DELETED] about 15 minutes ago.  I was experimenting with openings, and tried a trap that I thought might work.  It didn't work unfortunately, and I lost the match.  Things went downhill pretty fast haha.

Anyways, I had been in a pc with a friend of mine during the match, and noticed my opponent had been typing in the main chat.  What I read was pretty suprising to be honest haha, and I just wanted to call him out about it.

He had been making statements like, "wow, how older are you?  you must be a child" and "horrible, absolutely horrible player," "guess I was right you must be 5." And "stick to players under 1000."

I know I know, what he said isn't the end of the world.  But I am NOT the kind of person who lets someone else talk down to me like that.  If you wanna say gg or close match, maybe try practicing this..., etc. that is fine, but hazing me during the match is just plain immature.

So, since he blocked me, this is my message to him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wow, your a real nice guy huh?  Didn't see your messages until after the game was over.  Little kid?  I am a horrible player?  I started playing 4 months ago...  Lol, who is the real child here?  The guy who hazes his opponent during a chess match, or the kid who isn't nerdy enough to be great at chess.  I am 17 years old, and obviously a h3ll of a lot more mature than you.  Go lose at life some more?  If you want to play a serious match, add me as a friend and we can rematch.  I think you will find I am a tougher opponent when I use actual openings, rather than make them up like I did in our match.  Or you can back out like the little girl that you are. Grow some little boy.

P.S. - blocking me is real cool too.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry for the hate mail guys but this has happened to me numerous times recently.  I dont understand why people have to act this way and I want them to know that I wont stand for it.

P.S.- Im not a horrible player, I average around 1450 in standard, 1200 in blitz, and 1100 in bullet.

Sincerely,

Goliath59

Heh, I looked at the game, you probably had him sweating, looked like you came out ahead after 10 moves or so... guess he got so nervous that he started running his mouth after he got back in the game.

Try "Disable Chat." Great chess.com feature, so I heard.

Yeah I use this. I learned long ago that people talking trash during a game really throws me off and spoils my enjoyment. You can always chat with people after the game if you want.

orangehonda

The funniest thing about sub-masters trash talking is 1. they've probably misevaluated the position they're gloating about or (and) 2. they're generally bad at chess in the first place.

Scorpin70

It's the internet. It's 2010. We all on the same page here?

Anyone afraid of a few mean words should stay analog.

Play bridge with the old ladies or something. For your own peace of mind.

And calling someone out on a public forum is juvenile.

This part I particuarly found amusing:

I am NOT the kind of person who lets someone else talk down to me like that.

Goliath59

Yeah, I think I will try disabling chat.  Most people don't talk anyways.  Thanks.  :)

GambitKing and Scorpin70, sorry for being a "fool" and a "juvenile".  I guess its a lot to ask for a little respect and common courtesy.

And yes, I am not the kind of person who is gonna let others trash talk me freely.  I dont see how that is a problem?

That kind of language isn't allowed here.

hey goliath ! the point you  seem to be missing is that the sort of  cretin who made those remarks to you is simply not worth bothering  about. just ignore.

I've had rude players call me names, demand I resign (which I do more often than wait to get checkmated) etc. the whole gamut.  I just call them the asshole that they are, then disable chat.  You got the last word in.  If it's not a tourn game or team match game (I don't want to hold up play) then I wait my full 3 days to make my next move, just to piss them off.  Let me stress that these people are in the minority, most players on this site are very friendly and considerate.  Just take them for the idiot that they are and move on.

Curious. When someone disables chat, I abort the game immediately.

I am curious as to why. I default chat to disabled to avoid this sort of nonsense. I usually briefly reenable it to say gg at the end.
