I picture most of the men on this site living in their mother's basements which they've converted to chess and video game dungeons. They are pudgy and pale due to a lack of exercise and sunlight.
Mom smothers them with love and attention, so they can't lure women into their gaming dungeons which would be too creepy for a woman to enter anyway.

Of course a female can win the world championship one day. Of course there are social factors involved, namely the many male idiots who cant help but make rude comments to women at tournaments. I wouldn't want to go to a chess tournament if I were a woman. I'm not sure I would want to take my young daughter.
But the fact remains that there are physical differences that play a significant role. In general, men are more willing to take risks and women are more risk-averse. This is due primarily to differences in testosterone. This leads to men, in general, being on the extremes of the success-failure spectrum. Most of the world's leaders are men. Most of the best chess players are men. And most of the world's prison populations are men. For every Magnus Carlsen there is an Adolf Hitler.
