No friend
Not to be rude, but forums are really meant for discussion rather than making friends. You could try Live Chess chat and maybe you'll meet some people there who would, like, chat with you, maybe add you to friends list and stuff. Also, playing some games wouldn't be a bad idea.

Spreading the Christmas spirit early eh?
I was just trying to be helpful...
You are right trysts, can I add you to my enemies list ?
Well, my perspective on posting in the forums is:
1. Assume very few people will read what you post.
2. Assume out of those few people, most will feel indifferent, or annoyed.
Therefore, I already assumed I was on the list
I think maybe the OP believes he can only play games against his "friends." Actually, you can play against random opponents, or even your "enemies." Or you can challenge people by name that you don't know or haven't become "friends" with. Personally, I only add people to my friends list if I know them in real life or if I have something significant in common with them. However, I'd be happy to play a game with you!
Merry Christmas or Happy Children's Day!
OK, call it "Children's Day." Is there a plan to help children that goes with the name? Is the desire to eliminate "Christ" your motivation? I always thought X-mas was nice. Short and practical, and you can project any meaning you want on "X." Like an equation. You could embrace the pre-christian spirit of the holiday and say "Happy Solstice." A more accurate name might be $$$-day. It's like the names given for toilet facilities. Restroom, water closet, loo, crapper (the name of the guy who invented it, at least in the anglo tradition) people keep changing the name to make it more polite. The problem is that no matter what you call it, the reality is the same.

"Eliminate "Christ"", would be one of mine.
The OP was posted in the off-topic forum which was designed for friendly discussions. This site is basically a social site for playing friendly games of chess. Clearly the site seeks a sense of community among its users. Very serious players would not normally play (or at least play serious games) on this site. I see nothing out of line asking if someone would like to be a friend.
I guess we could call it the feast of Saturn which was what the Romans were celebrating before Julius the 2nd, the bishop of Rome, hijacked the holiday in 350AD. Clearly it is not the birthday of Jesus. Jesus was born when shepherds tended their flocks in the fields at night, which certainly isn't winter.

And the donkeys interviewed about that night have always said Mary wasn't pregnant, and she was with someone else.
