Whatever. I don't see where this idea would encourage draw.
See a comparison of two player points in the new system and the old system :
Player A :  3 win 6 draw           Old system : 6 point                 New system : 3 point
Player B : 4 win 5 loss           Old system : 4 point                 New system : 4 point

You see the new system encourage taking risk. Being able to keep drawing doesn't mean anything anymore. The one on top at the end is the one who won the most game. Period.
Of course it wouldn't encourage draw. If you have any counter argument I'm all ears.

I'm revising, in our class purple is the revising color.

This doesn’t make sense at all... Why would someone losing get the same amount as someone drawing? This means that in a drawn position a player would just resign and get the same points as if they played it out. The current system seems much better

Of course you are. Your interlocutor is confused about things.

You are offering a solution to a problem that does not exist. Hence, it is no surprise that your proposal has loads of unintended ill effects.

To the extent that draws are an issue in chess, it is only such an issue at the top level. There, several rules have been tried with success without trashing the scoring system.

I know they advised a +3 per win, +1 per draw and +0 for a loss, but I prefer +2 for a win for consistency (a win being twice as good as a draw, point-wise.
